6 Best Sandals Resorts for a Honeymoon in the Caribbean (2026)

Last updated: May 2026

With their all-inclusive packages, beachfront locations, and levels of service, Sandals Resorts offer everything you need for an unforgettable start to your married life. As a Sandals specialist travel agent, I've stayed at multiple Sandals properties firsthand and book dozens of honeymoons every year — so the picks below come from real visits, real client feedback, and the kind of details you only catch when you're actually on property.

In this 2026 update, I've added Sandals Saint Vincent (the brand's newest resort and a serious honeymoon contender), refreshed every resort with current room categories and dining, and answered the questions couples ask us most.

Quick Answer

For pure honeymoon wow-factor, our top pick in 2026 is Sandals Saint Vincent — it's the newest Sandals resort and the only one with two-story overwater villas. If you want a more established property with a private peninsula, Sandals Grande St. Lucian is the safer bet.

Top 6 Sandals Resorts for Honeymoons

1) Sandals Saint Vincent (Newest for 2026)

If you want to honeymoon somewhere your friends haven't already been, this is it. Sandals Saint Vincent opened in March 2024 on Buccament Beach and is the only Sandals resort with two-story Vincy Overwater Villas — think glass floor panels, an overwater hammock, and a private upper sun deck. The property also has a tucked-away heart-shaped pool and 12 restaurants, including Buccan, a 2-hour family-style dinner cooked over open flame. Saint Vincent itself is still mostly undiscovered, so the vibe is quieter than St. Lucia or Jamaica.

I visited in 2026 for my wife’s 40th birthday and we thought it was the nicest Sandals property we’ve been to. The views from the resort are so beautiful and the experience set a new bar for us. While it’s easy to spend more here, it was worth it for us.

Best For: Couples who want the newest, most photo-worthy overwater suite in the Caribbean.

Set on its own peninsula between Rodney Bay and the open Caribbean, Sandals Grande St. Lucian was the first Sandals property to introduce overwater bungalows — and they're still some of the most coveted rooms in the brand. The resort has 12 restaurants (Jasmine's Over-the-Water is the standout for couples), and the Stay at 1, Play at 3 exchange unlocks Sandals Halcyon Beach and Sandals Regency La Toc. We also love that you can be married in Sandals' overwater wedding chapel here — unique in the Caribbean.

Best For: Honeymooners who want overwater bungalows + the variety of three resorts in one stay.

Sandals Royal Barbados is the modern, slightly more grown-up Sandals — it's the only one with a rooftop pool and a four-lane bowling alley. The signature Skypool Suites have private infinity-edge plunge pools on elevated terraces, and every suite includes a Tranquility Soaking Tub for two. Pair it with the neighboring Sandals Barbados through the exchange program and you've got 20+ restaurants between the two properties. Bonus: it's a short walk to St. Lawrence Gap, which is rare for a Sandals — we like that there's actually somewhere to go off-property if you want a night out.

Best For: Couples who want a contemporary, design-forward resort with off-property nightlife within walking distance.

4) Sandals Grenada, Grenada

If you want a balance of relaxation and adventure, Sandals Grenada delivers. The Skypool Suites and round, cone-roofed Rondoval Suites are some of our favorite honeymoon rooms in the entire portfolio — extremely private, with infinity-edge plunge pools and 20-foot ceilings. The resort sits on Pink Gin Beach, has 10 restaurants (the on-property scuba diving program is also one of the best in the chain). Grenada itself — the "Spice Isle" — is also far less developed than Jamaica or St. Lucia, which makes it feel more like a discovery trip than a tourist stop.

Best For: Active honeymooners who want scuba, hiking, and one of the brand's most private suites.

Note: Sandals South Coast has been closed for a full restoration and is scheduled to reopen on November 18, 2026 — which means honeymooners booking this year get the property essentially brand new. The resort's signature is its Over-the-Water Honeymoon Butler Villas, arranged around a heart-shaped pier, plus an overwater chapel that's perfect for vow renewals. It sits on a quiet two-mile stretch of white sand — easily the most secluded beach setting of any Sandals in Jamaica.

My last visit to this property was in 2025. If you’re wanting a vacation that centers on the beach, this is my favorite Sandals property. There’s always a spot to claim for looking at the ocean all day.

Best For: Couples who want overwater bungalows close to the U.S. (Jamaica is the shortest flight) and a refreshed 2026 property.

Voted "World's Most Romantic Resort" multiple times, Sandals Grande Antigua is genuinely two resorts in one — the lush, beachfront Caribbean Grove and the all-suite Mediterranean Village. It sits on Dickenson Bay, regularly ranked among the world's top 10 beaches. The Caribbean Honeymoon Butler Rondovals with Private Pool Sanctuary are the room category we recommend most often here — cone-roofed villas with a fully private plunge pool sanctuary. Eleven restaurants between the two villages mean you genuinely won't repeat dinners over a week-long honeymoon.

Best For: Couples who want one of the Caribbean's best beaches and the variety of two resorts in one.

Choosing the Perfect Honeymoon Room at Sandals

Every Sandals resort offers three room tiers: Luxury, Club Sandals, and Butler Elite. On our first stay we opted for Club Level and have never gone back — the private concierge, Club Lounge access, and in-room treats genuinely add to the experience. Butler Elite is another tier up: a personal butler unpacks for you, books reservations, runs you a bath, and handles every detail of your stay. For a honeymoon, we strongly recommend at least Club Level — Butler is worth it if you're staying in an overwater bungalow or Rondoval.

For a deeper breakdown of each tier, see our guide: Luxury, Club, and Butler Levels: A Guide to Sandals Accommodations.

Why Sandals is the Best Choice for Your Honeymoon

Sandals is genuinely all-inclusive — food, top-shelf drinks, water sports, land sports, tips, and airport transfers are all built into the price. There are no resort fees, no daily room charges, and no upcharges for premium liquor. More importantly, Sandals is couples-only (16+ at most properties, 18+ at others), so you won't be sharing the pool with families or bachelor parties. The brand also leans hard into romance — couples massages, candlelit beach dinners, sunset catamaran cruises, and complimentary honeymoon perks like a private champagne toast.
